CRUISE TRIP WITH 12FLY NING NING AND DING DING! - PART 2
We walked around almost everywhere and stopped for photos at each of the street mural we found. I have always been interested in murals and graffiti arts. I am familiar with some of Penang’s famous ones, so I was eager to add more photos to my collection.
Around 3pm, we head back to the pier and start the whole checking-in process again. As we are sailing to Phuket and Krabi, we had to go through immigration checkpoint and use our passports as identification proof. Yay, passport getting stamped!
The second time I checked-in was totally different than the first. We checked-in later than the other guests so when we got on the ship, there were already so many people! The crowd this time was made up of mostly families so when I went to the Pool Deck in the middle afternoon, there were already kids splashing away in the swimming pool. Music was blasting already too. The party started earlier for the kids.
Our Sail Away Party comes after the Mandatory Passenger Safety Drill. Ning Ning Ding Ding and I went to our designated area in Deck 6 to join the crowd. They sure were the star of the show during the briefing. It seems they got more attention than the briefing itself. After the briefing, all guests were invited to Pool Deck for the Sail Away Party with performances from Star Cruise Entertainment Team and then BBQ Dinner was served.
My plan for the first night was to watch Magic and Illusion Show with Leonardo Carassi but Star Lounge was packed! Thankfully there was a second session at 10pm. While waiting, where else would I go if not to enjoy the house band from my favourite spot. Class of Six show band never failed me. I enjoyed singing along to their set and even danced from the balcony above. My own private concert.
Leonardo Carassi was amazing! You thought you already know all magician’s secrets on illusions and tricks but I guarantee, you will still be amazed by it. I was seated in front of the stage; a prime area and I was hoping I can catch a glimpse of the trap doors or trick but there was none! The show was flawless and I was in awe. It was really incredible! Hats off to you, sir.

This is the morning that I woke up late and missed breakfast. I also missed the sunrise. Always remember to check Opening Hours at Mariner’s Buffet or you will go hungry until the next session. Another option is to go to the restaurants that serves all day long, but it is chargeable to you by consumption. It was already 10am when I got out from the cabin and the ship was docked close to Krabi island. It was a sunny day and all I see around me was lovely hues of calming blue. 
To get to Krabi, guests can pre-book the day before for day trip packages. I decided to stay on board as the time frame was limited to enjoy Krabi and it was a good opportunity to get the ship to myself! Well not exactly but it was quieter since many had left for Krabi. Ning Ning and Ding Ding stayed on board too. I found them sun bathing at the Sun Deck said a quick hello and left them in their own company.
While waiting for lunch to be served, I spent my time swimming in the pool and reading at the lounge chair. My carefree day. There were activities planned for guests who stayed on board but I opted to relax. I went for a movie at the Star Lounge after lunch, they were screening Tarzan. And then wanted to go for a massage but it was by appointment only, so I went for karaoke with the staff instead. 
For the next 45 minutes, I sang my heart out with the staffs as I was the only guest there. That was among the best uninterrupted karaoke session I had. Their song choices are extensive, they covered multiple genres and languages, from oldies to the latest songs. Next thing I know it’s tea time! I literally just fed myself and relax that day. The crowd started to come back by then as the ship resume sail at 7pm.
Gala Cocktail Party was held the same night for the guest to be introduced to StarCruise Libra’s crew and management. The captain introduced the key personnel that operate the ship and manages the crew including the engineers, chef, hospitality and entertainment directors. He also informed that a new ship is being built and will be introduced to set sail in 2020.
Attendees of the Gala Cocktail Party then proceed to attend the Gala Dinner. We were served with 5 course Western meals. I had lobsters as main course. It was a pretty presentation and a delicious dinner. As always, I ended the night at my favourite spot with my book in my hands, blanket of stars, whispers of sea breeze and song renditions by the house band.
