#1 Flymojo was launched on 17th March 2015 at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) 2015 exhibition.
#2 This new airline is fully Malaysian-owned.
#3 Fly Mojo Sdn Bhd said to have signed a deal with Canadian planemaker Bombardier Inc to buy 20 CS100 aircraft for about US$1.47 billion (RM5.44 billion).
#4 The signed letter of intent (LOI) also stated an option for purchasing additional 20 aircraft, which would increase to US$2.94bil should Flymojo exercise all its options.
#5 The mentioned aircraft are designed to be 20% more fuel-efficient than similarly sized planes. They’re specifically designed to accommodate 100 to 149 seats, single-aisle market.
#6 Malaysia would become the first customer and operator of the CS100 aircraft in the region.
#7 They are targeting the travel market within Asean and the regions bordering it.
#8 It’s not a low-cost airline neither is it a premium. It’s price between full service and hybrid.
#9 The new airline will be based out of Johor Baru (Primary hub - Senai International Airport) and Kota Kinabalu (Secondary hub).
#10 The airline’s ultra-modern fleet of CS100 aircraft will play a key role in improving connectivity between the Peninsula and Sabah and Sarawak, as well as other parts of the region.
#11 Flymojo will transform Senai into a key regional aviation and logistics hub – augmenting the government’s initiatives in developing Iskandar Malaysia and the Southern Corridor.
#12 Flymojo chairman Datuk Seri Alies Anor Abdul said that the airline was born of the desire to make air travel a much-anticpated and longed for experience with a dedication to provide value, and exceptional customer service that will focus on putting the human touch back into flying.
#13 Additionally, the company is confident that Flymojo’s model will resonate deeply with the passengers and that the use of technologically advance CSeries aircraft will transform the aviation industry in Malaysia and the region.
#14 It’s scheduled to start its operation in October this year and will officially begin flying in the first quarter of 2016.
#15 Flymojo will not replace Malaysia Airlines, nor to be seen as a threat to AirAsia according to aviation analysts.
#16 However, according to TheDomain.com, the company failed to acquire the domain name FlyMojo.com before making the announcement.
#17 FlyMojo.com was first registered in 2014 and seemed to be owned be owned by the original registrant, cyberpacific.com.au. The domain name is currently on sale on Sedo.com but the price may have just gone up.
