I was recently invited for a Snow Festival In March with the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games media trip. I had a great time and I thought of sharing with you the 3 hotels that I stayed in during my trip.
#1 St. John’s Hotel Gangneung, Gangwon-do.
This is a fairly new hotel, I believe newly opened early this year in conjunction with the PyeongChang Winter Olympic. It’s pretty common as Gangwon Province have been spurring out new hotels just to make sure they are able to accommodate everyone for the recent big event. I had a really pleasant stay in this hotel, it was comfortable, clean, convenient store on the ground floor, and everything in the room works well. The staffs were friendly and speaks good English too. The breakfast was pretty good but when I was there, they had issues in accommodation everyone in one breakfast hall as it was peak season. By 8.30am, there was already a long queue outside, my friends had to wait for about 15 minutes before getting in.
#2 YongPyong Resort, PyeongChang, Gangwon-do.
This ski resort has been around for quite a while and is very famous for its ski slopes. Not only the locals, even avid skiers foreigner will come from all around the world just to check their ski bucket list. YongPyong Ski Resort is also one of the location where 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympic had one of its sport event. Plus, YongPyong is a huge place where it has accommodation options such as condos, hotels, and a youth hostel. One of our Snow Festival in March event was the EDM Festival with DJ Hanmin and it was also held here at the Blisshill Stay Wellness Hall.
I believe the room I stayed was a condo style room, where it comes with a full kitchen, double door fridge, huge storage space, and a dining table. It was as if I was planning to stay there for months. I love that it was a huge room with a really nice snowy view, double layer sliding doors to keep the room warm, and a more traditional concept where I had to sit on the floor to do my makeup. Unfortunately, I didn’t really had the best sleep there, most probably the bed and pillow was not as comfortable. Other than that, the toilet seat was not heated and the breakfast overall was rather simple. It’s an okay place to stay, I just have nothing much to scream praise about this place other than the staffs at the front desk were friendly and helpful.
#3 Millennium Seoul Hilton Hotel, Seoul.
Among the three hotels I stayed in, I adore this hotel the most. Thankfully, we stayed here for my last two nights. Yes, it’s really grand and possibly it’s one of the reasons why I’m absolutely in love with this hotel. It fulfils every little wants I have in a hotel, ultra-comfy bed, huge window with a great view of Seoul city, all functioning buttons are translated so I know what are they for, a clean bathtub, a heated toilet seat, huge mirror in the washroom with bright lights for me to do my makeup, relatively quiet, staffs were all friendly, and the hotel is nearby Seoul station. The breakfast place in this hotel may not be big but they have a good selection of food that most people would be happy with. I remembered taking a really good rest in my room by myself the morning before I check out, definitely one of the best way to end my hectic media trip. I truly appreciate it when a hotel makes me feel extremely comfortable when I stay with them.
