#1 Take cable car up to Sugar Loaf Mountain

It’s said that it resembles the traditional shape of concentrated refined sugar loaf. To get to the top, you can take the first cable to Urca Hill, then move on taking the second cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf. There you’ll get a 360 degree view of the entire city.

#2 Climb up to Christ The Redeemer Statue

Sitting 2,300 above sea level, on top of Corcovada Hill, Christ Statue is recently elected as one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World. This statue is covered with 6 million stone tiles and it took 9 years to complete. A small chapel can also be found at the base of this statue, where people are allowed to get married there.

#3 Laze around Ipanema Beach for hours

Chill for a couple of hours by relaxing on the world-famous Ipanema Beach. Summer is usually packed with locals and tourist who loves sun bathing as well as those who enjoys a few fun beach activities such as soccer and volleyball. This is also a hotspot for surfers to show off their skills on the waves.

#4 Tijuca National Park

Rainforest lovers would enjoy exploring Tijuca National Park as it’s one of the largest urban rainforest on the planet. #5 Take a scenic drive along Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon
