#1 Harmony Valley – Rainbow of Peace and Trees of Friendship
It delivers an experience of harmony, joy and happiness — but in a most unexpected way. Visitors are invited to interact with the sculpture by forming a human chain that connects with each end of the rainbow. That simple act of connection rewards participants by activating the sculpture, which springs into life with new sounds, animations and brilliant pulsing light.

#2 When Art Met Technology: Under The Coke Sign
The bright, contrasting colour palettes and bold geometric forms and patterns of mid-20thcentury modernism are the inspiration for all the installations created at the Cross for Vivid KX which has delivered a cohesive display of light art that ties together the whole precinct. The graphic content on the Coca-Cola sign has been enabled by the recent refurbishment of the sign (itself a modernist landmark) which included replacing the 40-year-old neon lighting with more than two kilometres of RGB rope LED.

#3 Midnight Sun
Midnight Sun is a large, flame-coloured disc that rises over the harbour near Farm Cove. In the morning it is lit by the rays of the sun, and at night hundreds of tiny coloured discs are illuminated by a LED and flutter and shimmer in the breeze. The LED light is powered by a photovoltaic panel which is integral to the installation. It serves as a reminder that only 1.5% of the earths land mass would be necessary to generate all our energy requirements. It is a fantastic but under-utilised resource.

#4 Crank Zappa Jellyfish
Crank Zappa is a hot tempered electric jellyfish who will zazzle and zap you with his sting bites when you get too close. Crank has come to Chatswood to tell the public what he really thinks about plastic pollution. Crank Zappa is completely constructed from single use plastic items including 1000 plastic bags, straws, 800 plastic bottles that were salvaged from Scotts Creek and 1200 meters of recycled twine that was weaved together by 40 volunteers. As visitors gather under Crank, he electrifies and animates in response to human touch.

The installation is almost five metres wide enabling visitors to stand in front of the centre of the flower to pose for photos, framed by petals of light, their faces fully in bloom.

#7 How Many Light Bulbs...?
“How many light bulbs does it really take to have a profound effect on a person? Is it a whole city of light, cycling through every colour every night, or is it just one bulb found in the right dark corner at the right time?”. Sydney’s bright city lights form a fitting backdrop to this installation, which poses the same question spelt out in 2570 individual light bulbs, all on various dimmers so that they too can sparkle and form part of the city lightscape.

#8 Impressions
Impressions intersperses five ‘canvases’ on easels between the garden beds and floral artistry of the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney. Each canvas is actually a high-resolution LED panel, which shows time-lapse images of the Garden taken over the course of a day. Glowing, moving and continuously changing, these ‘paintings’ are inspired by the art of the 19th century Impressionists and their focus on the accurate depiction of light and its differing qualities.
