【ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS】FLIGHTS HANDLING IN RESPONSE TO PNEUMONIA CAUSED BY THE COVID-19

UPDATED: 03 March, 2020

ANA has adopted a range of precautionary measures in response to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in order to maintain a safe, secure environment for its customers, flight/cabin crew and other employees.

ANA's handling in regard to this outbreak is as follows.

1. Temporarily Suspend Service on Select Routes Due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)

In light of reduced passenger demand due to the spread of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have decided additionally to temporarily suspend, reduce the number of flights, or downsize aircraft for the following international routes.

For more flight information, please refer Temporarily Suspend Service on Select Routes Due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
We will provide further information as soon it is decided regarding the operation of these flights on and after March 29.2. Special Handling of International Air Tickets

For information on our special handling of international air tickets, please see Special Handling of International Air Tickets due to Pneumonia Caused by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Refunds can be requested up to 1 year and 30 days after the travel start date (or issuance date if prior to travel).

3. Special Handling of Japan Domestic Air Tickets

For information on the special handling of domestic air tickets, please see Special Measures for Japan Domestic Flight Tickets in Expansion of the Coronavirus Disease.4. Restrictions on Entry to Japan

By instruction of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the following persons will not be permitted entry into Japan from February 1, 2020 until further notice. (Current as of February 27, 2020)

  • Non-Japanese nationals arriving in Japan 14 days or less after being in Hubei or Zhejiang provinces, People's Republic of China.
  • Persons in possession of a Chinese passport issued in Hubei or Zhejiang provinces, People's Republic of China.
  • Any non-Japanese passport holders who boarded on the MS Westerdam and disembarked at Sihanoukville city, Cambodia.
  • Any non-Japanese passport holders visited Daegu Metropolitan City or Cheongdo county in North Gyeongsang Province, Republic of Korea in the past 14 days at the time of arrival in Japan.

In response to the immigration restrictions being placed by each country, we are allowing passengers to change and request refunds for ANA-operated international flights for free of charge, regardless of fare regulations. For flights tickets purchased through travel agencies or other non-ANA channels, please contact the location through which you made your purchase.
Please note that self-service check-in machines and some online check-in functions may not be available for use for certain routes due to travel restrictions being put in place by each country.

5. Changes to Other Countries' Entry Conditions

  • On February 27, 2020, India's Bureau of Immigration (BOI), Ministry of Home Affairs announced that it would be temporarily suspending the Visa-on-Arrival services for Japanese and South Korean nationals. For this reason, the said nationals are now unable to enter India using this service as of February 28.
Furthermore, India's e-Visa service is no longer accepting applications from Japanese, South Korean, Iranian and Italian nationals. The Indian government has, however, confirmed that e-Visas that have already been issued remain valid at present.
Therefore, we kindly request that passengers planning to travel to India hereafter apply for and obtain a visa from the embassy or consulate general of India in their country of residence before boarding their flight.
  • From February 26, passengers traveling to Qingdao, Dalian, Xiamen, and other locations will be restricted from travelling after arriving at the airport. There is also information that quarantine measures will be taken at home or at a hotel, in some cases, the local government may designate a hotel or staying location.
Please check the Foreign Ministry's overseas safety website and the latest information from the Chinese Embassy and Consulate General before you travel.

Other countries are also reinforcing their quarantine systems. As a result, the situation at airports is changing on a daily basis and this includes conditions for entry to a country becoming stricter. There have even been reports of passengers who have not been able to enter a country despite having the travel documents that are usually acceptable for entry.
There are reports that some countries and regions have implemented particularly strict entry conditions for passengers who stayed in certain countries with confirmed cases of the virus immediately before travel. For this reason, passengers are asked to check the information provided by the embassy and consulate of their destination as well as information from health organizations for the latest travel conditions.6. Airport / On-board Handling

ANA will continue to adopt precautionary measures in response to the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in order to maintain a safe, secure environment for its customers, flight/cabin crew and other employees, and we kindly request your understanding regarding any inconvenience caused due to changes to our in-flight services.
