#9 Will I get a breakdown on the GST paid for a flight that I booked to travel on 1st April 2015? 

All prices quoted by AirAsia from 1st April 2015 will include GST at 6% if applicable.
All GST breakdowns shall be available in your web itinerary. However, please note that this receipt is NOT a Tax Invoice. Please refer to this website for your Tax Invoice. 

#10 I purchased a product/service via the AirAsia website which is provided by a 3rd party, how do I obtain the Malaysian GST Tax Invoice for the purchases?

Guests can get their Tax Invoice for all 3rd party products and services, which are offered on AirAsia.com from the respective merchants as follows:

  • Tune Insure AirAsia Travel Protection (Domestic Plan only), the Tax Invoice shall be provided to you by Tune Insurance Malaysia Berhad (TIMB) together with the certificate of insurance. For any enquiries on their Tax Invoices, please contact them at : [email protected] 

  • For TuneTalk Mobile Prepaid Services, Tax Invoice can be downloaded via Customer Self Care Account at www.tunetalk.com. 

  • SkyBus is exempted from Malaysian GST, hence no Tax Invoices will be issued by SkyBus. 

  • To obtain a roKKi chats Tax Invoice, please email s[email protected]. Please ensure that your token has been successfully authenticated prior to your email request. In your email, please indicate your Token ID and Serial Number which is available on the token that you have purchased and used. Once your email request has been received by us, we will revert to you with an electronic copy of the Tax Invoice within fourteen working days. 

  • Car Rental Services (powered by CarTrawler). Car Rental supplier will provide the final Tax Invoice to you when the vehicle is returned. 
Please contact supplier directly if you do not received the final invoice. Nonetheless, for further assistance, please contact CarTrawler Customer Service team at [email protected] 
 

#11 Can I get a refund on the GST amount (6%) on my fares, fees and add-ons if I fail to show up for the flight?

No, you will not get a refund on GST (6%) on taxable items on fares, fees and add-ons as the GST has to be paid to the Government once your booking is confirmed.

We shall refund the Airport Tax and the Malaysian Goods and Services Tax (GST) paid on the airport tax only. This is only refundable if requested in writing within 6 months of the travel date and the refund is subject to a refund processing fees, where applicable.

Please refer to the terms and conditions of carriage for AK and D7 flights respectively.  

#12 If I purchase meals and non-duty free merchandise onboard domestic flights, is the GST taxable at 6% ?

As domestic flights are standard-rated, meals and non-duty free merchandise purchased onboard domestic flights will also include 6% GST. You can ask for a manual (simplified) tax invoice from the cabin crew onboard the flight. 

#13 If I purchase meals, non-duty free merchandise and duty free onboard international flights, is the GST taxable at 6%?

As international flights are zero-rated, no GST will be applied for all purchases onboard international flights. You can ask for a Tax Invoice from the cabin crew onboard the flight. Tax Invoices will be provided by the cabin crew either in the form of a manual (simplified) Tax Invoice (meals and non-duty free merchandise) or via email (duty-free items).

#14 Will my Tax Invoices for onboard purchases be available in the AirAsia Tax Portal?

No, Tax Invoices for onboard purchases will be issued upon request from our cabin crew.
