How To Visit PyeongChang And Gangneung In 4 Days?

Due to the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, there seem to have a lot of amazing discounts, packages, and promotions going on. Thanks to the new KTX line that connects all the Olympic cities, they have came up with two 2 Days 1 Night recommended itinerary for PyeongChang or Gangneung. Images below shows the plan directly from Incheon Airport.

Shuttle buses mentioned in the plan are available and free only during the Olympic and Paralympic period. As for the Happy 500 Package Tour Bus, it’s only available on 1-28 February 2018. For more info on the free shuttle busses and tour bus, we have listed it here

What we recommend is to combine the two recommended itinerary and visit both PyeongChang and Gangneung in 4 days. It’s best because if you are visiting during the Olympic period, might as well make the best use of the available free transportation. Besides that, you should also check out the special PyeongChang Korail Pass and use them together for this trip because they are providing unlimited train rides from the 1 Feb – 25 March 2018. This pass will be extremely useful when transiting from Incheon Airport to PyeongChang Station (Day 1), Jinbu Station to Gangneung Station (Day 3), and from Gangneung Station back to Seoul or Incheon Airport or Yongsan Station.

For the 4 Days 3 Nights PyeongChang and Gangneung trip, we recommend staying 2 nights somewhere near Jinbu Station. Then on the 3rd day, transit to Gangneung and stay 1 night nearby the station for easy transit back the next day after the tour.

Need more recommendation? We have listed 11 awesome places to visit in Gangwon Province, South Kore. Check it out here!
