DAY 1 - Guatemala City - Antigua (Arrival)
Upon arrival at Guatemala City airport, you will be met by local representative and escorted to your hotel in Antigua (50 minutes drive distance) Rest of the day is free at own leisure, you might explore Antigua. This charming colonial city once served as the heart of Central American economics, politics and religion and has been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. DAY 2 - Antigua
After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, your guide will take you to see the top attractions of the city, referred to as Antigua Guatemala (Old Guatemala City) after earthquakes destroyed many of its buildings in 1773. Antigua Guatemala, named so by the beauty and greatness of the colonial buildings. The town is protected by the surrounding eternal guards, the Volcanoes of Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. Go over cobblestoned streets to visit the Plaza de Armas, Palace of the Captains, the Cathedral, churches, and monasteries. Continue visiting the Jade factory and the handicraft market. You will also visit nearby towns of San Antonio Aguascalientes and Ciudad Vieja. DAY 3 - Antigua - Chichicastenango - Panajachel (Lake Atitlan)
Breakfast at the hotel and check out with lugagge.
Departure for Lake Atitlan to the indigenous village of Chichicastenango also known as Santo Tomas Chichicastenango, a quiche Indian town surrounded by hills and mountains that jealously keep the inhabitants’ traditions, as they melt their prehispanic and catholic rituals at the 400 years old church of Santo Tomas, built on the remains of a Mayan Temple. Walk up the 18 stairs that lead to the church, each signifying a month on the Mayan calendar, and learn about the combination of pre-Christian and Catholic beliefs and ceremonies of the Masheños (people of Chichicastenango). Visit on a Thursday or Sunday to see the K'iche' Maya and people of other dialects from the surrounding region gather. Your guide will help you navigate the market, where vendors sell everything from produce, grains and animals to colorful flowers, textiles and handicrafts.
After your guided tour, continue to the town of Panajachel on Lake Atitlan (Lago de Atitlan), one of most beautiful places in the world! Isolated in the Guatemalan highlands, you’ll catch breathtaking views of three surrounding volcanoes Atitlan, Tolimán, and San Pedro. DAY 4 - Panajachel (Lake Atitlan) - Santiago Atitlan - Guatemala City
After a hearty breakfast in hotel of Panajachel, you will need to check out, at indicated time, you will be lead to experience a morning scenic boat trip to Santiago Atitlan, on an inlet just south of Panajachel, Santiago lies between the Tolimán and San Pedro volcanoes. This village is located on the south part of Lake Atitlan, on the slopes of the Atitlan Volcano. On a very short walking, you will visit the church of Santiago Apostol and then visit the confraternity of Maximon – a mixture of Mayan deity and Catholic saint. The wooden statue is paraded through town during Semana Santa and resides in a local family’s house the rest of the year, receiving offerings. DAY 5 - Guatemala City (Departure)

Guatemala City, or Guate as it is referred locally, is an interesting blend of old and new which possesses a distinct Latin charm. Known by its ancestors as the "place of many trees" (name originated from Nahuatl language, Quuahtlemallan) the city mixes lots of green areas with modern architecture. Free & easy and at the set time you will be transferred from hotel in Guatemala La Aurora International Airport for your flight departure home or next destination.
