Despite the recent hot and dry weather, Malaysians eagerly flocked into COWAY Run 2018 which sported a bigger and cooler theme this year, “Beat the Heat” aimed to encourage Malaysians to pursue a healthy and pure lifestyle in a fun and cool(ing) environment, all as they run for a good cause!

In its second year running, COWAY Run 2018 saw a 30% increase in participation rate as eager and excited participants from all walks of life (locally and internationally) assembled early morning at MAEPS, Serdang where they laced up their shoes and ran for a good cause and, towards a healthier life.

Living up to its unique theme this year, participants had the pleasure to “beat the heat” as they ran through checkpoints fitted with cooling wind tunnels, water sprinklers and mist caves designed to keep runners comfortable and hydrated with the incorporation of exciting elements in the hot tropical Malaysian heat.

COWAY Run 2018 included a casual Fun Run (5KM) for those aged 16 and above who preferred a more laidback good time with family and friends. Serious runners enjoyed the 10KM run participated by both men and women for the following categories: Open (for ages 16 and above), International (for ages 16 and above), and Veteran (for ages 40 and above).
